If it was any other director in Ram Gopal Varma’s place, he would have certainly postponed his film. That’s why RGV is different from any other filmmaker. When AP High Court ordered stay on release of his Lakshmi’s NTR in Andhra Pradesh, RGV didn’t hesitate to release the film in all other places.
The film made on limited resources is turning out as a super duper hit. Interestingly, Lakshmi’s NTR collected better to NTR Biopic in X Roads on day one. While the RGV directed film minted 6,42,016 gross on day one, NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu raked 6,28,937 and 1,60,641 gross from its main theaters on opening day.
The film premiered in 125 screens on Thursday collected $90,214 at the US box office. The word of mouth boosted its collection on Friday. As per early trends, the film has minted $55,714 on Friday, taking its total collection to $145,928.
Lakshmi's NTR had good advance booking in Telangana, Karnataka and other parts of India, where it has opened to fantastic response on Friday. The movie started on a good note in the morning shows and the positive buzz boosted its business in the later shows.
As per trade reports, Lakshmi’s NTR collected a day one share of Rs 72 lakhs in Nizam, which is a great start.
