Natural Star Nani was the most reliable actor in Tollywood, until his multi-starrer Devdas with Nagarjuna turned out to be a disaster. His previous movie Jersey despite receiving extreme positive reports had ended as a decent hit. Nani’s latest release Gang Leader got mixed reviews and the film’s collections are worrying producers and buyers.
As per trade reports, Gang Leader is off to ordinary start in many centers. The numbers are bit less compared to what Jersey collected on day one. In Nizam, Gang Leader collected a share of Rs 1.67 crores, whereas Jersey minted Rs 1.93 Cr share on day one.
In USA, Gang Leader is looking at $350K (including premieres on Thursday), wherein Jersey collected $410K on day one. The asking rates was actually 10% higher. This slow start is worrying the buyers who expected the film to rake good numbers on day one considering the factors of Nani’s market in Nizam, USA and the film has no big competition at box office.
Overall, Gang Leader may not break Nani’s previous day one record.
