According to the latest buzz in the film, Kollywood director, producer and actor Raghava Lawrence is going to play the lead role in Tamil film, which is a remake of Telugu blockbuster movie Rangasthalam. It is heard that Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of Rangasthalam has sold out the remake rights of the film for a whopping amount of Rs 1.5 crore and Raghava Lawrence has acquired it’s remake rights.
Rangasthalam is a village-based drama, which is helmed by Sukumar and is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. The film has Mega Power Star Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles. Set against the hinterlands of Andhra Pradesh, the revenge-drama has an engaging screenplay, strong characterizations, foot-tapping songs, terrific performances from the entire star cast and rich production values.
In Rangasthalam, Ram Charan essayed the ‘sound engineer’ Chitti Babu and Samantha Akkineni made her screen presence as a village belle. This was the first time when Samantha shared the screen space with Ram Charan and the movie was blockbuster at the box office. Now Rangasthalam is going to Kollywood and it is heard that Raghava Lawrence will play the lead role in this remake.
Everyone is eager to know that who will helm this village-based drama. The sources say that Lingusamy is the frontrunner to direct Rangasthalam in Tamil and Raghava Lawrence might play the lead role. Both these filmmakers Lingusamy and Raghava Lawrence command a solid following among the masses.
Raghava Lawrence started his career as an actor in 1998, in a Telugu film. He adopted the name “Raghava” in 2001, and worked for many top actors and directors in Kollywood throughout his career.
Currently, Raghava Lawrence is busy in his upcoming directorial venture Laxmi Bomb, the remake of Kanchana in which Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani are playing the lead roles.
