Yesterday Kollywood actor Karthi celebrated his birthday. The younger brother of actor Suriya is not known to be a typical Tamil film hero. Karthi has proved his mettle as an actor. Having started his career in the film industry as an assistant director to filmmaker Mani Ratnam, he made his big acting debut in critically-acclaimed Tamil film, Paruthiveera which was released in 2007. He carved his own path with films such as Naan Mahaan Alla, Madras and Kaithi. Recently during an interview, Karthi shared about his thoughts of doing a straight Telugu film. Karthi also revealed that he rejected a movie of Shiva Nirvana, which was later accepted by Natural Star Nani.
Kashmora actor Karthi said, “Shiva Nirvana has narrated the story of Ninnu Kori first to me and I was almost ok to do the project but some problem popped up and thus the director moved on to Natural Star Nani. The actor Nani scored a hit with the film Ninnu Kori and Shiva Nirvana was also praised for a decent debut.”
If Karthi did the romantic movie Ninnu Kori, he would have become more famous in both Telugu and Tamil film industry but he missed a good film. On the work front, Karthi will be next seen playing the lead role in upcoming movie Sultan and
Ponniyin selvan.
