Keerthy Suresh was declared Best Actress at the 66th National Film Awards for her terrific performance in Telugu film Mahanati, which was helmed by Nag Ashwin. The film Mahanti, based on the life of actress Savitri, garnered much appreciation and love for Keerthy Suresh, who brought alive the iconic star with such grace and exuberance. Recently she was seen in another woman centric movie Penguin, which received mixed response on its opening day. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, Keerthy Suresh has been approached to play the female lead in the sequel to yesteryear classic movie Erra Gulabilu, which was released 40 years ago.
Erra Gulabilu is the dubbed Telugu version of Tamil psychological thriller film Sigappu Rojakkal which was directed by Bharathirajaa, in which versatile actor Kamal Haasan and Sridevi played the lead roles. The movie revolves around Dileep, who is traumatised by women’s behavior in his childhood, and grows up to be a psychopath misogynist who kills women after having s*x with them.
Bharathirajaa’son Manoj will direct the sequel and he himself penned the script of the film. It is said to be a revenge story. Music maestro Ilayaraja will compose the tunes and Bharathirajaa will produce the sequel of Erra Gulabilu. Very soon the official announcement will be made regarding Keerthy Suresh’ Erra Gulabilu sequel.
