Earlier there was a strong buzz in the film industry that Rana Daggubati and Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja have been roped in to play the lead roles in the Telugu remake of hit Malayalam film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Sithara Entertainments headed by producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi acquired the remake rights for a fancy price. But it looks like Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake has been shelved or put on hold. The reasons cited for this sudden decision seem to be the inability of the makers to take the final call regarding the lead actors- Rana Daggubati and Ravi Teja.
It is also being that that none of the talented filmmakers are ready to work on Ayyapanum Koshiyum remake immediately and so the team has decided to postpone the project indefinitely.
Ayyappanum Koshiyum is about the ego clash between a police officer Ayyappan Nair, essayed by Biju Menon, and a retired havildar Koshy Kurien, played by Prithviraj. Directed by Sachy, the film Ayyappanum Koshiyum also featured actors like Ranjith, Sabumon Abdusamad, Anil Nedumangad, Alencier Ley Lopez, and Anna Rajan in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile Rana Daggubati is working with Sai Pallavi for the movie Virata Parvam whereas Ravi Teja will be seen playing the lead role in Krack.
